We’re looking for a Project Manager to join the team

As we continue to grow we require an experienced Project Manager to join the team here at Vocal.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Creative/Development Team in the role of Project Manager. The role will change daily, so you must be adaptable and not afraid of change as our evolving business is constantly changing (for the better). We have grown by 21 new team members over the last 18-months and currently looking for an additional 10 new team members, 6 of which will join our Creative/Development Team. It is an exceptionally exciting time for Hudson Outsourcing with our expansion into the US.

You must have an abundance of common sense, be bright, willing to input ideas to drive forward new projects and you must be a born problem solver. With clients in 24 countries, you must be willing to research, understand and implement projects across a range of different cultures and have the ability to manage a busy and stressful workload in varying time zones.

The role will involve working on the project management needs of Hudson Outsourcing’s digital and creative projects for it’s six divisions, Hudson Succeed, Hudson Discover, Hudson Procure, Hudson Labs, Vocal and Alpha. Hudson’s client’s (mainly SMEs but operating around the world) and our sister business, the Hudson Publishing Company. The Directors of Hudson also ownseveral product-development companies, specifically for the children’s market and aimed at those who love exploring fantasy worlds, so the chosen candidate will be instrumental in driving forward these projects and ensuring they’re delivered on time and within budget, working closely with our Creative, Digital and Marketing Team of 15, wider UK team of 45, growing US team and our outsourced Development Team in India.

No two days will be the same for this role, so time management is essential when ensuring all projects are moved forward at equal pace.

Person Specification

  • Well organised and flexible. Willing to work long hours in the run up to product launches – ensuring deadlines are achieved from your wider team.
  • Managing clients and internal stakeholder expectations.
  • Accountability for communicating project plans, deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Assist with writing creative briefs for internal team members based on client and directorrequirements.
  • Improve existing processes, with the goal of improving profitability.
  • Ensure on time and accurate programme execution.
  • Prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Produce timely and accurate project reports for directors and clients.
  • Flexible in supporting the Creative Team on a wide range of administrative duties.
  • Coordinating and scheduling of meetings, taking notes and distributing follow up actions.
  • Provide weekly progress and delivery reports to Director’s, both in the UK and the States.
  • Flawless execution of projects.
  • Experience working alongside Director level staff. This role will report directly into our Global
  • Managing Director who is based in the States, so regular trips to the US will be required as part of this role – please do not apply if you are not able to travel.

You will:

  • Require minimal day-to-day management and be a ‘self-starter’.
  • See problems before they arise and create solutions.
  • Trust your own tried and tested processes.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Project Management or similar.
  • Have Prince2 or similar, which is highly desirable.
  • Have excellent and proven organisational skills, including strong attention to deal and abilityto manage a heavy workload.
  • Have 5 years-experience in project/account management.
  • Have experience in using digital workflows/project management software, which is a hugeadvantage.
  • Have 5 years-experience working in an agency/consulting environment.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Have strong listening, problem solving and team management skills.
  • Have preferred experience working with teams of digital and creative personnel.
  • Have a high level of intellectual curiosity, drive, determination, self-confidence and persuasionskills.You can truly make this role your own, managing your own workload. With unlimited access to our Directors, so you can pitch new ideas for project improvement and for moving our group of businesses forward whenever you want.The successful candidate will work in a Creative/Development/Marketing Team of 15, a wider team of 45 here in the UK, a growing team in the States and a wider Development Team in India.

Additional Information

Location – Durham

Salary – £35,000 – £40,000

Hours – Monday – Thursday 9am-5.30pm and Friday 9am-5pm

Holidays – 20 days per annum plus bank holidays
